Chaplains and Pilgrimages: Bishop Joe Coffey
“The world needs strong, bold, courageous, fearless Catholics. We can be inspired by Father Kapaun. We have the examples, we have the armor, and we have the weapons to get through this life, knowing where we’re going.”
Bishop Joe Coffey is an Auxiliary Bishop for the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA. He recently retired as an active-duty Navy Chaplain after 28 years and currently serves as the Archdiocese’s Vicar for Veterans Affairs. In this call he talks about his experience on the Father Kapaun Pilgrimage, serving the combat assault battalion of Marines in Okinawa, and what he would say to us Catholics who are called to mission in our daily lives.
