Jeep Mass November 8th
St. John Nepomucene Church, Pilsen, Kansas
10:30 am
To commemorate Veterans Day and the 75th Anniversary of Venerable Emil Kapaun’s service in the Korean War, the Father Kapaun Guild will host a Jeep Mass in his hometown of Pilsen, Kansas.
The iconic image of Father Kapaun celebrating Mass on the hood of his Jeep was taken on October 7, 1950, near the border with North Korea. In honor of the anniversary of this powerful image, Mass will be celebrated on a Jeep on the parish grounds.
After Mass, the Pilsen Altar Society will provide lunch for a suggested donation of $10, or you’re welcome to pack your own picnic lunch. To help us with meal planning, follow the link below to RSVP if you think you’ll be eating lunch provided by the altar society (but don’t be afraid to come even if you didn’t RSVP- we should have plenty of food!)
Please bring your own lawn chairs if you wish to use them during Mass.
The Chaplain Kapaun Museum and Gift Shop will be open after Mass.
In case of inclement weather, Mass will be held inside the church.
